Strotman was taken into custody early Friday on charges of malicious wounding and child abuse causing serious injury. Police said her arrest was related to an incident on Nov. 10, but detectives are actively investigating at least six similar cases of suspected fractures in infants in the NICU that occurred between the summer of 2023 and December 2024. Dominique Hackey, the father of one of the victims, shared his heartbreak after learning of Strotman's arrest. His twin sons suffered mysterious tibia fractures in September 2023, later determined to be caused by abuse. “We're finally getting some answers about who abused our son,” Harkey told Fox News Digital. “But after learning the details involving other babies, the only thing I felt was sadness and regret.” Harkey, whose wife is a former NICU nurse, immediately reported the injury to social services, but not until a year later Only later did the authorities discover the situation. The injury was confirmed to have been caused by a hospital staff member. Dr. Henrico Hospital launched an internal investigation in November after three other infants were found to have suffered unexplained fractures. On Christmas Eve, the hospital temporarily closed its neonatal intensive care unit, citing safety concerns. The hospital installed additional security measures, including a new surveillance system, and turned over a trove of footage to investigators. Henrico Police Chief Eric English praised the detectives for their outstanding performance. Police confirmed in a statement that “all previously closed cases related to these incidents have been reopened,” noting that the investigation involved hundreds of hours of surveillance footage. Authorities are actively gathering evidence and have assured the family that every lead will be thoroughly examined. Police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward. contact information:
