Two people died Saturday night in a small plane crash at Covington City Airport in Covington, Georgia. This is about 35 minutes from downtown Atlanta. The Covington Police Department is now investigating the incident. Surrounding 11:40 pm, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) notified the authorities about the single-engine Commander Rockwell taking off from the airport. However, officials said the plane did not communicate from the plane after departure. The seeker found the wreckage in the woods north of the runway. The bodies of two people were found at the crash site and were pronounced dead by authorities at the scene. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Commission are now working together to determine the cause of the crash. This incident adds to a series of disturbing tragedies. Activities, including the recent fatal crash, involve a motorcyclist in South Fulton and an investigation into the missing teacher in Lake Oconey.
