The Trump administration fired more than 400 employees from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday. Scanning cuts affect multiple agencies within the DHS, including Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Federal Emergency Administration (FEMA), FEMA, FEMA, and U.S. Citizens and Immigration Services Bureau (USCIS). According to Department of Homeland Security officials, the employees targeted at the shooting are still on probation and are considered “persons who are not critical of the sentence.” The government said the move is expected to save about $50 million and simplify government operations.
