The Recording Academy confirmed on Monday that the 67th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. While the devastating wildfires sweeping Los Angeles have raised questions about whether the event will go ahead, organizers have decided to move forward with the show as planned, emphasizing a renewed focus on supporting those affected by the fires. In a joint statement, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board Chair Tammy Hurt expressed solidarity with the affected communities. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. This city is our home, and we mourn the loss of life and destruction that has occurred in recent days.” Mason and Hurt confirmed to the Grammy Awards Will work with local authorities, including Mayor Karen Bass’ office and public safety agencies, to ensure public safety and responsible use of resources. The show will also serve a higher purpose this year: raising funds for wildfire relief efforts and honoring the brave first responders who risk their lives to protect others. The Recording Academy and MusiCares have launched Los Angeles Fire Rescue with an initial donation of $1 million. To date, the fund has provided more than $2 million in emergency assistance to music creatives and professionals impacted by wildfires. Mason and Hurt reiterated their commitment to providing ongoing support to those in need. “In challenging times, music has the unparalleled power to heal, comfort and unite,” their statement continued. “The Grammy Awards will not only celebrate the artistry and achievement of our music community, but also serve as a platform to enhance the resilience of our great city, Los Angeles.” Doubts remain. The MusiCares Person of the Year event and the Recording Academy Special Merit Award have yet to be determined. Meanwhile, other gatherings, such as the annual Milk & Honey pre-Grammy event, have been canceled. Founder Lucas Keller called on others to follow suit, saying celebrating while so many people were suffering would be “tone deaf”. Produced by Fulwell 73 Productions, the 2025 GRAMMYs telecast will air live on CBS from 8 pm to 11:30 pm ET/5 pm to 8:30 pm PT and will also air on Play on Paramount+. This year's awards season has been disrupted by wildfires, but this isn't the first time the Grammys have been affected by outside events. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both the 2021 and 2022 awards shows were postponed, with the 2022 event even being moved to Las Vegas. The Recording Academy has not yet announced a host for this year's show, but is expected to do so soon. Among this year’s nominees, Beyoncé leads the way with an impressive 11 nominations, followed by Charli XCX and Post Malone with eight nominations each.
