Texas teen arrested for alleged mass attack on high school with pipe bombs and guns

The FBI revealed what they called a “massive casualty attack” plot, two teenage girls, aged 15 and 16, were arrested after targeting Memorial High School in Harris County, Texas. According to law enforcement officers, the so-called plan involves the use of pipe bombs and guns. The FBI was aware of the threats on Tuesday and determined that they were specific and credible and needed immediate action. At 2:45 p.m. CST, the agency contacted local law enforcement departments, including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County authorities and the Spring Branch Independent School District Police Department. Within 30 minutes, both teenagers were located and detained, preventing what officials said could be a fatal attack. The 16-year-old Memorial High School student was charged with posing a terrorist threat and staying in custody of Harris County. The 15-year-old suspect was held in Montgomery County on irrelevant charges. Investigators are still looking for weapons or explosives, although so far, no guns, bombs or bomb-making materials have been found in Harris County.
