The unidentified suspect then walked to Pennsylvania Avenue, where he faced Secret Service agents. Agents fired and injured him before transporting him to an unknown hospital. The man reportedly traveled from Indiana to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, prompting local police to remind federal authorities. Donald Trump was at the Mar-A-Lago Resort, Florida when the incident occurred. The Internal Affairs Department of the DC Metropolitan Police Department is leading the investigation. During Trump's first term, a similar incident occurred in August 2020, when the 51-year-old suspect fired a gun at the White House and was “running actively.” The Secret Service shot him in the torso as Trump briefly escorted out during his return press conference.
