Literally, Miami may be undergoing a hip-hop makeover. Client Keon Hardemon has just renamed it on 20 streets in Miami-Dade County, previously legendary hip-hop lyrics from local artists such as Trick Daddy, DJ Khaled and City Girls and City Girlss.imagine.imagines.imagine. His goal is to pay tribute to Miami’s hip-hop roots while promoting tourism and local pride. “It’s part of our culture,” Hardemon said. “It’s time to celebrate the sound of bringing Miami to the map.” The proposal highlights the influence of these artists on music, but also on the city itself. From Trick Daddy's original Anthems to DJ Khaled's large proportions of slogans and unapologetic energy of city girls, these names are not only words, they represent Miami's impact on global hip-hop. Hardemon also believes it is an essential photo to bring these visitors into the area, bringing these street signs into the essential photo. Imagine fans flocking to take pictures under “305 til I Die St.” Or “Let’s Go to the Avenue,” which is the city’s free marketing and pays tribute to its musical legacy. But not so quickly, the proposal has been postponed and will return to the county commission's agenda on March 18.
