Pharrell Williams' music biography “Golden” was cancelled a few months before its release

Pharrell Williams’ highly anticipated live-action biopic Golden has been closed permanently in post-production. Originally titled “Atlantis”, the film is directed by Michel Gondry and features A-rated actors including Kelvin Harrison Jr. , Halle Bailey and Brian Tyree Henry. But, as Variety reports, “Gold” will not be released after a “consistent agreement” between Gondry, Williams and filmmakers, including Mimi Wald Mimi Valdes and Gil Netter. The film was cancelled after it was filmed. The film has a $20 million budget and was originally scheduled for May Releases on the 5th, but fans on social media expressed frustration at the cancellation, which lost the potential of the film.
