
Orlando will soon look like a sword-blade runner, cars flying through the sky. Orlando International Airport is preparing to build a landing pad for Vertiport, launch and land on electric taxis. The Greater Orlando Aviation Administration will start bidding next month. Powered by electricity, these small aircraft can accommodate up to six passengers and take off vertically. The first Vertiport will be built on the airport, East Airfield.orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer confirmed the city is working with the FAA to achieve this. This is the third attempt at the airport at Vertiport. In 2020, German flying car company Lilium signed a deal with Nona Lake Developers to launch air taxis from 2025 to 2025. Then in 2021, Orlando worked with NASA to study air mobility, but the program will never take off.
