Nicki Minaj's former manager Brandon Garrett recently filed a lawsuit and could face criminal charges. TMZ reports that Detroit police have sent a warrant request to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office and are currently reviewing whether criminal charges will be filed. The incident at the heart of the case allegedly occurred in April 2024 in Detroit. According to the lawsuit, Garrett was called to Minaj's dressing room after a performance and she reportedly became furious when she learned Garrett sent someone else to pick up one of her prescriptions. Garrett claimed Mina angrily told him his “life was over” before hitting him in the face with an open palm and slapping his wrist, causing the document to fall from his hand. At one point, Minaj allegedly told Garrett that if her husband, Kenneth Petty, was present, he would attack him. Garrett is suing Minaj, alleging assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress and seeking damages for the alleged conduct. When reports of the lawsuit first surfaced, Minaj's attorney called the allegation “frivolous.” However, prosecutors will ultimately decide whether to proceed with charges.
