Fourthen additional men have come forward with sexual misconduct possessions against former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries, expanding an already significant federal sex trafficking case.Jeffries, 80, is under house arrest and facing a 16-count indictment accusing him, along with his longtime partner Matthew Smith and middleman James Jacobson, of orchestrating a sex trafficking and interstate prostitution operation between 2008 and 2015. None of these three people pleaded guilty. New accusers say they were manipulated by false promises of modeling opportunities, drugs or forced sexual behavior – back in 1992. At least 12 are represented by attorney Jared Scotto, who said many are former Abercrombie. “We are complying with criminal and civil litigation lawsuits,” he said. He said two men – Brandon Steele and Joseph Sterling filed civil lawsuits in New York, accusing them of being raped by Jeffries after being forced to take illegal drugs and attend Abercrombie's Abercrombie-themed gender party. The BBC first reported many requests, pointing out that these people were young people at the time and were misled with modeling opportunities. Last December, his legal team sought a competency hearing claiming he was late for Alzheimer's. The former CEO, who once praised Abercrombie as a pop culture brand, has been under fire since a 2023 BBC investigation. Abercrombie & Fitch has not yet publicly commented on the allegations or negligence lawsuits filed against the company.
