The mystery of Gene Hackman's death has been resolved, and the New Mexico medical investigator's office confirmed that his wife, Betsy Arakawa, died a few days later, probably without the death of Alzheimer's disease. Authorities found them. What causes their death? Betsy Arakawa succumbed to Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome, a rare and often fatal disease that is the urine, feces, or saliva of rodents. Gene Hackman, 94, died of natural causes, and the report is characterized by complications of heart disease and Alzheimer's disease. Hackman's pacemaker last showed off the February 18 event, indicating that he might have passed away that day and his wife has passed. Arakawa seemed active in the last few days before Arakawa's death, just days before all the communication the couple stopped. February 9: Their dog Zinna was picked up from a veterinary hospital. February 11: Emailed with a massage therapist, visited the sprout farmers market, resume and pet shop, and returned home around 5:15 pm on February 11: Arakawa’s email has not yet been paid attention, the last known sign of life for her or Hackman. Investigators did not find any further communication after February 11, meaning the couple could have died alone within days of each other.
