Lil Wayne made it clear that he was no longer interested in following his hometown of New Orlean after a 2025 half show. “They stole the feeling,” Wayne said. “I don't want to do that. It's perfect.” Wayne said he was considered a leader in performance and even stepped out of his usual routine, showing his face at big events such as Michael Rubin's all-white party and Tom Brady's appearance. “You've never seen me in their venue type. I'm not Drake,” he said. “I smoke and record in the studio.” He admitted that he didn't even bother Kendrick's Super Bowl. “I was playing the Lil Twist pool at the time,” he said. “Go outside to smoke. Every time I peek at the TV, nothing makes me want to go in and see what's going on.” Although he stressed that Kendrick had no blood, he couldn't stand his criticism. “They can have some music. But instead, they get Rappin'. They F-ked.” After the NFL announced Kendrick as the headlines for 2025, Wayne announced that his decision was “injured.” He now says the league later apologized and claims that it was ultimately decided not to their hands. “Suddenly, they bent,” he said. “So, I'm going to have to solve just everything they say.” Jay-Z is responsible for the selection of the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019 through Roc Nation. Wayne said he was still cool with both Hov and Kendrick, but as far as big games were concerned, he was no longer interested, he was no longer interested.
