LGBTQ and health groups file executive orders for trans rights and DEI

Nine LGBTQ, health and HIV groups sued the Trump administration on Thursday for executive orders targeting transgender people and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. They argue that these policies have hindered all aspects of their capacity to provide critical health services by forcing them to ignore keys. The lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, challenging the elimination of the DEI program and the stock-related order to grant the government acknowledges only two genders. These directives threaten federal funding for organizations serving historically marginalized communities. “The executive order jointly targets the plaintiff and the persons they serve and excludes the people they serve from services that receive federal financial aid due to their identity,” the lawsuit law states, Lambda Legal seeks an injunction on behalf of the group to cease enforcement.
