LeBron James may have turned 40 today, but the Lakers star believes he can dominate the court for another seven years. In a video interview with reporters on his landmark birthday, James reflected on his storied career and his thoughts on retirement, which have become more poignant as time has passed. Despite speculation about his future, James stressed that he is still capable of performing at an elite level but said he has no intention of staying in the NBA for too long. “Honestly, if I really wanted to, I could probably be at a high level for maybe another five to Seven years,” James said at practice. “But I wouldn't do that.” Unlike Michael Jordan or Tom Brady, James also dismissed the idea of returning to the court after retirement. “No, no, but I’m definitely going to miss that game,” the four-time champion said. “But I'm not going to walk away and come back. No.” has achieved every imaginable milestone, from winning three-team championships to becoming the league's all-time scoring leader and playing with his son Bronny. On the court, James has little left to prove. He also said he hopes to fulfill his dream of spending his career with the Lakers since 2018.
