Another Kennedy Center event was cancelled in amid Donald Trump's hostile takeover. The Kennedy Center suddenly canceled its planned performances, which included a choir of gay men in Washington, citing financial restrictions and scheduling conflicts. The Choir is a historic LGBTQ chorus organization that was scheduled to perform in May with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) as part of the Washington World Festival. “We are very disappointed with this news,” the choir said. “We believe in the power of music to education and advancement, promoting love, understanding and community, and we regret that this opportunity has been taken away.” The cancellation comes as Trump unloads the Kennedy Center board and appoints himself as his own A few days later the chair.
