Judge blocks mass federal employee firing in Trump administration

A federal judge in California temporarily blocked the Trump administration's efforts to shoot federal employees on a massive shot, ruling that the administration has revoked its powers. US District Judge William Alsup, headquartered in San Francisco, issued a ruling Thursday after reviewing lawsuits filed by multiple unions and nonprofits. At the center of the case is a directive from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which calls for the end of thousands of recently hired federal workers, including 5,400 employees of the Department of Defense. Alsup ruled that OPM had no authority to enforce such shootings, especially test employees, especially workers in teenagers for many years. He ordered OPM to revoke the Jan. 20 memorandum and the February 14 email, which directed the agency to determine the termination of the trial employees. Nevertheless, he warned that mass layoffs could seriously affect Veterans National Park, scientific research and services, noting: “Probation employees are the lifeblood of our administration. They go to low levels and work hard. The Trump administration defended its directives that OPM simply asked agencies to review their workforce and assess who can be terminated, rather than enforce any action. But Alsup remains skeptical, noting that almost every federal agency has independently decided to cut its workforce immediately.
