Former U.S. Attorney and Biden nominee Jessica Aber died at the age of 43

Jessica Aber, a former U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, died tragically at the age of 43 on Saturday. The Alexander Police Department (APD) responded to a report about a non-responsive woman on Beverley Avenue, where Aber's body was found on Beverley Drive. The cause and condition of her death is being investigated by the Virginia office of the chief medical examiner. Aber was an assistant attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia with an outstanding career in 2009. Between 2015 and 2016, she served as the attorney general of the Justice Department’s Assistant Attorney General. Later, she became the deputy director of the Criminal Department of the same office. In 2021, Aber was nominated as a U.S. lawyer by President Biden and received unanimous Senate confirmation. However, when Donald Trump took office in January 2021, she resigned. General Atney Pam Bondi expressed condolences, calling Aber's death “deeply miserable” while Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares respected her legacy.
