Former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star Apple Watts is opening up about a near-fatal car accident that left her partially wheelchair-bound. Unfortunately, Watts admitted she had been drinking before driving. Recalling her March 2022 car crash with Mark Laita on “Soft White Underbelly,” she revealed, “I was kind of excited, but it was a few hours later. I think I fell asleep “I was going 90 mph when I hit a truck.” The collision caused her car to flip over multiple times and burst into flames. Watts suffered a fractured spine, a broken arm and a fractured skull. After being airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, she spent four months in a coma. “When I woke up, I forgot everything and everyone,” she recalled. Now nearly three years later, Watts is sharing her harrowing experience as a warning to others. “Don't drink and drive. A lot of people die from this stuff,” she warned. She admits her lifestyle once normalized drinking and drug use. “I thought I was invulnerable.” Watts' injury ended her career as a dancer, but she was determined to turn her experience into motivational speaking. “I just want to save lives. I don't want anyone to go through what I went through,” she said. Watts also said she hoped her loved ones would step in and stop her from drinking. However, she admitted that her bad temper prevented them from interfering with her routine. “I regret all the things I took for granted before the accident,” she admitted, adding that her journey taught her resilience and the value of life.
