Police finally caught the fifth suspect in Julio Forio's murder. Davion Murphy, 27, was arrested on suspicion of murdering the Jacksonville rapper on Jan. 6, nearly six months after the fatal shooting. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO), Murphy was arrested as a result of a joint effort between the JSO SWAT team, gangs and the U.S. Marshals Service. They found him in an apartment on Labelle Street in Jacksonville. Murphy is believed to be part of the group that planned the June 2024 killing of Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones. The controversial artist was shot to death in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn in Tampa shortly after being kicked out of an Airbnb during a birthday celebration. Detectives said Foolio, apparently trying to get a room, posted his whereabouts online multiple times, unknowingly leading the killer directly to him. The suspects, members of rival Jacksonville gangs, fired more than two dozen shots at Jones' vehicle. Three others were injured but survived. Murphy's arrest brings the total number of suspects in the case to five. Sean Gathright, Alicia Andrews and Isaiah Chance Jr. were arrested in July 2024, and Davion's 30-year-old relative Rashad Murphy was involved soon after. “This arrest underscores our commitment and tenacity to solve this murder,” JSO Director Mark Romano said in a statement. Authorities are still investigating the case and working to determine if anyone else was involved. In September 2024, it was reported that the death penalty may be considered in this case.
