Google has officially received FDA clearance for the Pixel Watch 3's pulse detection feature, paving the way for roads launched in the U.S. by the end of March. This critical health feature is designed to detect when a user loses his pulse due to a heart attack or overdose of medications, such as a heart attack or overdose. If no response is received after prompting, the watch will automatically contact emergency services. Sandeep Waraich, senior director of product management for pixel wearables at Google, previously confirmed that the watch can distinguish between actual pulse loss and those who only remove the device. Pulse detection has been available in the European Union since September 2024, but regulatory approval is required before it expands to other regions. Whether it reaches other markets will depend on permission from local health authorities.
