
Dolly Parton has shared the devastating news that her husband of nearly 60 years has died.Carl Thomas Dean, the ultra-private husband of the country star, died Monday at 82. Married to the music icon since May 30th, 1966, Dean avoided the public eye, rarely attending events with his wife.Parton posted the grim update on Instagram, writing, “Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville, 82. His siblings, Sandra and Donnie, survived. “Carl and I have spent many years together. Words cannot be just about the love we share for over 60 years.” Parton added. Born in the city in 1942 during this difficult period, Dean met Parton outside the laundry in 1964. “I would come to Nashville in dirty clothes,” she recalled in the 1976 New York Times. “That guy roared at me, I waved…that's my husband Carl.” Dean also praised his wife in several public comments over the years. My first thought was 'I'm going to marry that girl', Dean told Entertainment tonight in 2016. “My life began that day. However, he inspired her classic song “Jolin”. Parton and Dean renewed their vows in 2016, marking a 50-year marriage. “We just like to be together,” she said. The cause of his death is not yet known.
