DJ UNK's cause of death has been confirmed to be a heart attack. The Atlanta rapper died in his sleep on January 24, according to his wife Sherkita Longplatt, who spoke to TMZ. She expressed concern about the various rumors surrounding his death, especially those suggesting drugs. She clarified, “Speculations that he died from drugs are not true because he was not using drugs. A candlelight vigil will be held in his memory on Sunday in UNK's Atlanta neighborhood. Longplatt previously shared that he died on Facebook of the heartbreaking news and wrote: “Please respect me and my family. I just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father. Our lives will never be the same. I love you forever Anthony. He signed with Big Oomp Records in 2000 and is a key figure in the Atlanta rap scene. His most famous singles, “Walk It Out” and “2 Step,” remain party staples today. Although health issues affected his career in 2009, he released several singles in the following years. Sadly, UNK's life was cut shockingly short.
