Sean “Didi” Comb's legal team has asked for a two-month delay in his upcoming federal criminal trial, but the judge has not initiated it yet. His trial is still scheduled to begin with jury selection on May 5 and opens on May 12. They said the third substitute for the indictment introduced significant new actions and the government is still handing over key evidence, including the charges containing a mandatory minimum requirement of 15 years. Judge Arun Subramanian acknowledged the concerns but ordered both parties to continue as planned ahead of the court meeting this Friday. He added that if Combs' legal team submits a renewed application that addresses government objects, the court will promptly consider it.Federal prosecutors allege that Combs used his entertainment empire to sexually abuse women over a 20-year span, including orchestrating recorded sexual encounters known as “freak offs,” which sometimes involved transporting participants across state lines.Combs, 55, has denied all criminal wrongdoing. His lawyers believe the relationship was agreed and believe the allegations came from former partners with personal motivation. He has also held dozens of civil lawsuits at Brooklyn Detention Center since September. His defense team, led by Marc Agnifilo, may still seek limited delays to review specific discovery materials.
