Deadly terrorist attack on Bourbon Street leaves 10 dead and dozens injured

Early Wednesday, a tragedy occurred in New Orleans during New Year's celebrations when a car deliberately drove into a crowd of people on Bourbon and Canal Streets, killing at least 10 people and injuring more than 30 others. Authorities described the incident as a “terrorist attack.” The suspect, who has not yet been identified, reportedly crashed the vehicle after driving through a barricade blocking traffic from entering Bourbon Street. Police said the man deliberately targeted the crowd with the intention of causing mass casualties. “This man was trying to run over as many people as possible,” New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick said. “This was not a case of drunk driving.
