Cheryl Lee Ralph to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame this month

Legendary actress and singer Sheryl Lee Ralph is well-deserved to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ralph, best known for her role as Philadelphia public school teacher Barbara Howard on the comedy sitcom “Abbott Elementary,” will receive the prestigious honor on Wednesday, January 29. She revealed the news on Twitter, expressing her gratitude for the recognition in the “TV” category. “It is my great honor to be announced with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Ralph, 68, wrote Sunday. “This is a celebration of love, perseverance, and unwavering support from family, friends, and fans. Star recipients have two years to schedule the ceremony. A Connecticut native and Rutgers University alumnus, Ralph's extensive career includes roles on “This Is Life,” “New Attitude,” “Instant Mom” and “Moesha.” She was nominated for a Tony Award in 1982 for her role as Dina Jones in “Dreamgirls” and later won an Emmy Award in 2022 for her role in “Albert Elementary.” She also received Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. It's not confirmed yet, but the event will likely be live-streamed on the Walk of Fame website, as is common with every ceremony.
