The court battle between Donald Trump and CBS continues, and the network now hopes to dismiss Trump's massive lawsuit. Paramount, the parent company of CBS News, filed two motions in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas to dismiss Trump’s “60 Minutes” lawsuit against the former vice president before the 2024 election. Paramount’s legal team argued that Trump wanted to “punish a news agency to “punish an editorial judgment of constitutional protections that they don’t like.” They added: “Not only did they ask for $20 billion in compensation, they also sought an order that instructs news agencies how to exercise their editorial judgment in the future. The lawsuit filed in late October 2024 accused CBS News of “partisan and illegal election and voter intervention”, accusing CBS News of “partisan and illegal election and voter intervention” through an interview with deceptive editor Harris. The lawsuit was originally seeking a $10 billion lawsuit and revised it in February. Paramount’s second motion asserted, “ The editorial judgment of 60 Minutes is “a non-commercial speech that is completely beyond the scope of relevant laws” and investigated under CBS Juancisdiction. “CBS and Paramount committed the worst election interference and fraud,” said Ed Paltzik, Trump’s legal counsel, said, “vowing that Trump will raise this crucial thing for his just and correct conclusions.” Like this: Like Loading: Discover more from ballerina announcements.
