Belize authorities are investigating a bottle of tequila that played a role in the deaths of three Massachusetts women last month. Kaoutar Naqqad, 23-year-old Imane Mallah, 24, 24 and Wafae El-arar Kahal Beach resort will be reportedly reportedly. Police Commissioner Chester Williams confirmed the development of Channel 5 Belize, noting that investigators are now working to determine whether tequila contributed to the death of women. In a joint statement released on Monday, they expressed concern about the situation surrounding the tragedy. “The situation in this tragedy remains unclear and suspicious, and we are seeking answers to understand what is going on in Belize,” the family said. “We urge authorities in Belize and the U.S. to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation so that we can find truth and justice for Kaoutar, Imane and Wafae.” The initial autopsy showed that all three women had fluid accumulation in their lungs. However, the final toxicology report was still awaiting. The authors initially reported no obvious harm, but pointed to signs of possible overdose. Last month, alcohol and glue found in hotel rooms were reportedly sent to test at a national laboratory in Belize. Incumbent Williams also confirmed that he had a conference call with his family to provide updates on the investigation.
