Matt Reeves Updates Progress on DC Crime Saga

Director Matt Reeves has provided an update on The Batman Part II, confirming that the screenplay is complete and production prep is underway in the UK.

Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne / Batman in a story that expands on the detective-focused crime saga established in the 2022 film.

Reeves noted that the sequel continues directly from the flooding of Gotham City and the political power vacuum left in its aftermath:

• Detective Core: The story maintains a grounded noir detective structure rather than fantastical elements.
• Returning Cast: Colin Farrell’s Penguin and Andy Serkis’s Alfred will play key roles in the narrative expansion.
• New Antagonists: Additional rogues gallery figures will test Batman's physical and psychological limits.
