The landscape of basketball, and sports as a whole, is changing forever. Players in this carousel get what they deserve before turning pro. Startup leagues like Unrivaled, with 30 female basketball players who all have ownership stakes within the league, are leading the charge. LeBron James' business partner Maverick Carter is advising a group of wealthy individuals looking to raise $5 billion to create an international league in which players would take ownership stakes. Bloomberg first reported that the league is trying to compete with the National Basketball Association, hoping to follow LIV Golf's lead in trying to pay players higher wages and create more attractive opportunities based on player circumstances. The league hopes to follow the lead of the F1 series. A similar schedule, with games held in eight different cities around the world, each held for two weeks at a time. Maverick Carter did it alone; James' team said he was not involved in the effort. Carter does have a solid team to help him raise money, including Skype co-founder Geoff Prentice and former Facebook executive Grady Burnett, a diverse group of Cultural people want to make their history. The league will consist of six men's teams and six women's teams. The money they hope to raise is the only way they can think about competing with the biggest basketball league in the world. It's an attractive opportunity for some players, but what will convince players to join the league? Ownership, travel abroad or amount paid? There are still many questions to be answered, but the idea has generated a lot of interest from multiple fronts. The NBA seeks to continue to expand the reach of the NBA Academy, establishing facilities on multiple continents. The size of the game is constantly growing, and money can always influence predictions in some way. There are only about 450 positions in the NBA in total. There are a lot of talented basketball players who could join this league and hang out with today's stars.
