Former LSU star and projected first-round NFL draft pick Kellen Lacy wanted in fatal hit-and-run incident

Kyren Lacy was just three months away from changing her life and the lives of her family forever. Lacy was a talented wide receiver who finished his season at LSU with 58 catches for 866 yards and nine touchdowns. He is known for his speed and impressive route running skills. However, it looked like Lacey would never get a chance to play in Sunday's game after the unfortunate news was released earlier this week. According to reports, on December 17, 2024, confirmed by the LSP Police Department, a car accident occurred near Lafourche Parish while Lacey was driving at a high speed. Lacey entered the northbound lane of a no-traffic zone, causing a head-on collision. The driver of a 2017 Kia Cadenza was Herman Hall, a 78-year-old former Marine. Lacey allegedly managed to escape without rendering aid or calling for help. Two days after the accident, Lacey declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Hall's family is demanding justice, and it looks like the state of Louisiana will take a tough stance on Lacey's actions. Tragically, rival Alabama alum and wide receiver Henry Riggs has committed to the Las Vegas Raiders. Riggs was involved in a hit-and-run accident in 2021 that killed a young woman and her dog. Riggs will be eligible for parole in August 2026. With a lengthy investigation and legal battle looming in 2025, it's hard to believe Lacey will emerge from this situation unscathed. He currently faces felony charges of manslaughter and hit-and-run.
