The Miami Dolphins ended their season in disappointment with a 32-20 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday. In a season plagued by injuries and internal turmoil, this Miami team features wide receiver Tyreek Hill with all of his numbers steadily declining. This marked the first time in five years that Hill failed to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a season, finishing with 956 yards. He also had 50 fewer catches due to an injury to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It's clear that Hill chose not to play again, and the outcome won't determine Miami's playoff fate. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel later claimed Hill gave up on the team in the second half. While Tua's health is out of control — he will likely be out of the wild-card game due to a long-term hip injury — Hill's decision not to play reportedly didn't go over well in the locker room. Hill expressed his displeasure after Sunday's game. He has been frustrated by media coverage, suggesting he may explore other options in the offseason. Of his decision not to play again, Hill said: “This is the first time I haven't made the playoffs, man. So I have to do what's best for me and my family. If it was here Or anywhere, I'm opening that door for myself. I'm out there, man.” Hill's current contract is tradable and he's still on it. There are still two seasons left. His salary cap hit will be $27.7 million next year and a staggering $51.9 million in 2027. Any team that trades for Hill will need to weigh those numbers carefully.
