Billy McFarland's announcement on Mexican official Playa del Carmen's announcement that it would not happen in their city was a controversial businessman who quickly headed to Instagram to make claims, insisting that the festival is still on track. McFarland is released online. “All media reports suggesting our team has not been working with the government of PDC are simply inaccurate and based on misinformation.” This statement came in response to Playa del Carmen's city hall announcement, which firmly stated: “No event of that name will be held in our city. There are no records, plans, or conditions that indicate the holding of such an event.”Despite the official rejection, McFarland's event producer, Nick Botero, voiced frustration over the situation. TMZ reported that Botero allegedly texted: “They (government) posted blessings and support on X, Instagram, etc., and then yesterday they said we never heard of them – it was interesting.” He added: “They were just totally lying…we plan to make it public and show all the evidence. We will move it elsewhere.” This setback follows similar claims that Isla Mujeres didn't understand about the incident. However, McFarlane continued to move forward, with Antonio Brown previously announced his performance at the May event. Still, he believes Fyre Fest 2 will disappear without obstacles.
