Teddy Bridgewater retires, signs with Detroit Lions

Twelve days ago, Teddy Bridgewater won his first state championship as a high school coach in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Today, the quarterback is about to make his comeback and return to the NFL. Bridgewater appeared on NFL Network's “The Insiders” on Thursday to provide an in-depth look at his first season as head coach and announced his return to Detroit. Earlier today, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced that they would add Bridgewater to the active roster immediately. The Louisville product said on NFL Network that his return was always part of the plan. He had high praise for Bridgewater when it came to joining the team at the end of the season. “It just brings a level of professionalism, a veteran presence, a great guy for our team, and he's a great fit for the position,” Campbell said. “It gives us a guy who's played a lot of games in the NFL.
