Frontier Airlines is grabbing the moment to win frustrated Southwest Airlines passengers by launching a limited-time promotion that offers free inspections and carry-on bags. The move comes a few days after Southwest announced it would start collecting check bags, ending its 54-year-old “free bag” policy. The previous deals, called “Your New Love”, include free carry-on, free shipping bags, free seat selection and flight changes. Travelers can book flights by booking by March 24 and using a free bag of promo codes, travel departing between May 28 and August 18 – Southwest Airlines' new luggage charges are in effect. “Some airlines are moving away from traveler love, but we see it as the ultimate “divorce your old airline” and we will make these allowances permanent if travelers show us love. Under the new policy, only top-level quick rewards A-List preferred members and business choice passengers will continue to receive two free check bags. A-list members, credit card holders of Southwest brands and featured customers will still receive a free check bag, but all other travelers will have to pay for check bags on flights booked on or after May 28. Many Southwest loyalists expressed disappointment with the change, and some said some no longer think that they no longer see more competitors, increasingly selecting more advanced experiences. But if the promotion is successful, the airline says it could consider making free luggage allowances available as a permanent supply.
