A federal judge in Washington, D.C. temporarily blocked the Trump administration's attempt to ban transgender people from serving in the U.S. military. US District Judge Ana C. Reyes strongly criticized the government in his ruling, saying the ban violated the constitutional rights of trans service members. “The cruel irony is that thousands of trans service members sacrificed their sacrifices- Some people sacrificed their lives at risk to ensure that others provide very equal protection for others, while military bans seek to deny them, Reyes filed lawsuits among six. The order directs the Pentagon to create plans within 30 days to implement the ban. The ruling is the latest in a series of court rulings that blocked Trump’s executive order, which led to fears that the administration may eventually ignore the federal court’s ruling. Trump has promised to appeal, but has also publicly criticized the judge against him. Now, trans forces can continue to serve while the law fights.
