According to the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), outbreaks in Texas and New Mexico continue to spread, with a second person dying of measles. The individual is an uninoculated resident of Leah County, New Mexico, who lives near the Texas border and broke out in January. According to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, Texas has at least ten cases in LEA County alone. The unvaccinated child died after being hospitalized in Lubbock. NMDOH is still investigating the official cause of death among residents of LEA County, but confirmed: “The agency's lab does confirm that the measles virus in the deceased exists among the deceased.” As cases rise and cases rise, health officials urged vaccination to curb the outbreak. However, Trump's action plan on the matter is still invisible. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services.
