According to reports, the IRS plans to cut the labor force by up to 50%, marking one of the most important labor reductions in recent history. Efficiency is a newly formed agency responsible for simplifying government actions. The reduction is expected to target probation employees, employees close to retirement, and others willing to accept the new “deferred resignation program” acquisition. The IRS currently employs approximately 90,000 employees nationwide. Shrinking efforts are already underway. In February, about 7,000 IRS employees provided a year or less, marking the first wave of reduction. As the government develops, more layoffs are expected to be expected in the coming months to significantly reduce the size of the federal government. As the tax season develops, many people are wondering: Does fewer IRS workers mean greater headaches for U.S. taxpayers?
