While news about food recalls continues to come out, the latest product to be recalled is Frito-Lay's popular classic potato chips. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall is due to the product containing undeclared milk. Specifically, the order specifically applies to 13-ounce bags sold in Oregon and Washington. These bags have a “Guaranteed Fresh” date of February 11, 2025, and a manufacturing code of: 6462307xx or 6463307xx. Although the package label only lists potatoes, vegetable oil, and salt as ingredients, the presence of milk is not included on the label, causing concern for individuals with dairy allergies and sensitivities. “People with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity are at risk for serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if consumers consume the recalled products,” the FDA wrote in its statement. “Although allergic reactions have not yet been reported, Frito-Lay is urging customers to discard any affected products they may have in their homes and to contact the company's customer service department for further assistance.
